Pictures

We were able to get Gavin's 4 year old pictures and Owen's 6 month old pictures at the same time. Gavin's eyes weren't quite healed, but he is still adorable. Owen was also very personable this day and very cooperative - thank goodness!

Catch Up - Gavin!!

Gavin enjoying the spring weather. This is the first time he rode his big bike. He does such a great job and there is zero fight to wear his helmet - he thinks it is cool.

Don't let the picture above fool anyone - poor Gavin has had a horrible month of April. It started the week before his birthday when he came home from daycare with pink eye. We went to the doctor, got some eye drops and everything seemed to be cleared up by the weekend for his wonderful birthday party. Thank goodness that the weather held out and the kids could play outside. Gavin (and our whole family) is truly grateful to have such wonderful friends and family. They spoiled him rotten and it took forever for Gavin to open his presents. He is such a wonderful child and opens very methodically and makes sure that every scrap of wrapping paper is put in the garbage bag before moving on.

Unfortunately, last week he had another flare up of the pink eye - or so we thought. When I picked him up from daycare he looked like someone literally punched him in the eye. He was so swollen that the poor bugger couldn't even see out of his left eye. Off to the doctor again!! We got a stronger eye drop this time and again by Saturday everything seemed to be cleared up.

However, when he woke up on Monday, both eyes were swollen, red, and itchy. Luckily we were already scheduled to go to the doctor for his 4 year checkup and shots. This time the doctor decided that it has to be allergies and we have the poor little guy on 5 different medicines to get this whole thing cleared up! It is not clearing up and we return this Monday to find out what more we can do. Also, he still has to get those nasty 4 year vaccines, but the doc is not comfortable giving them until we get this situation under control.

It hasn't all been bad though. Gavin started Tee Ball this year and loves it!! It is also nice to get him outside (which he loves so much) and run off some of his excess energy. The only problem is that when I go back to work I feel like I will never see him. I will pick him up from school, come home to make supper, and then we are either rushing to practice or a game! Practice days I don't even get to see him long! On the brighter side, Greg is his coach so he is getting a lot of Daddy time! I will work on figuring out how to post a video b/c if anyone needs a good laugh, you just have to go see these little ones play. It will brighten the most depressing day!

First day of practice!!

Opening Day!!

Don't let this picture fool you! This was taken at the opening day parade and Gavin was mad b/c we made him stop playing with the kids to take a picture.

Catch Up - Owen!!

It's been so long since I have posted, I thought that I would just lump everything into one post for each kid so they may be rather long - Sorry!!

Owen is 6 months already! I can't believe how fast this time went and how quickly my return to work is coming. I am trying to treasure every moment. Owen is still quite the eater and has just become more so since starting solids. He is a fan of solid food and is now eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with his milk. He loves all vegetables except peas (we are going to try this again soon) and most fruits though peaches and mangoes are not his favorites. I finally have him on a schedule, but true to fashion, this month is so crazy with birthday parties, easter egg hunts, and tee ball games so poor Owen has to adapt to Gavin's busy schedule. However, I pretty sure that this is not going to change so we might as well initiate him to our lives - God knows Gavin got his dose when he was Owen's age.

Owen is also doing everything possible to try to crawl, but hasn't quite figured out how to move forward yet unless he is flopping on his belly. He has been able to get up on all fours for a while and to move he simply throws his body forward and lands on his belly. On Sunday, 1 May, Owen did start Army crawling! I am so excited, but I have to do a better job at baby proofing. Of course I have to worry about Gavin's lovely Legos on the floor as well. This is a great time to really focus on not letting Gavin get away with leaving his toys lay around.

He also sits up on his own very well. He has been perfecting this for quite a while, but I finally felt comfortable letting him get a real tub bath. Up until this time, he has hated every second of bath time but thank goodness - he loves to splash so this is now one of his favorites. I really don't understand where the time went!

Nicer Weather!

I love the nicer weather! I finally felt that I could take Owen on outdoor walks b/c the weather got a little warmer (but on this day, I still had to bundle him) and the ground was dry. It is so nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Owen loves being outside - just like his big brother, Gavin - and we have been walking outside everyday since Tuesday. Hopefully the sun stays shining even if the temperatures dip a little.

Owen was excited to get out of the house as well. There are not many instances where Owen is smiling in his car seat so I had to take advantage of this opportunity. This hat was actually Gavin's, but it is still big on Owen since he has such a tiny head. The doctor says she is not worried, but you know me, I worry about everything. I hope that his head catches up with his body soon!!

Foot Fetish

On Monday, March 7 (I know - I'm a little behind - Mother of the Year AGAIN!), Owen found his feet. Since then, they have become his favorite toys and he seems quite obsessed with them.

Owen did not make it easy to get this picture, which is one reason why it took so long for me to get this on!

Finally - a decent picture!

My Football Player

Gavin is getting spring fever. Thank goodness for the warm weather b/c we have been able to get him outside to get all that pent up energy out! When we can't go outside, Gavin plays football in the house. Here is his famous pose:

Sesame Street Live!

About 3 weeks ago, Greg won 4 tickets to see "Elmo's Green Thumb" at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre. This is not a show that we would normally go to see, but when you get free tickets, you take advantage of the opportunity - and I'm so glad we did. Gavin loved it and though Owen is too little to understand he was fond of the colors, singing, and dancing - at least until after intermission.

Posing with my 2 favorite boys before the show. Grammy gave Gavin some money to buy something at the show. He picked this Elmo pendant and a shirt.

Before intermission - the guys enjoying the show.

Owen after intermission. Guess he can only handle so much.
